Here's quite a rarity, that surfaces once in few years on some online market, and when and if it does, it goes for pretty penny. This is a promotional pamphlet made as a part of huge marketing campaign for Terminator 2: Judgment Day. It was produced in late 1990 and contains the very first promotional teaser image for T2, which is my favorite Terminator image out there, and my collection of vintage items consists mostly of items with this particular image (a bit more on that promo image HERE). The leaflet consists of all the first promotional imagery, the T2 symbol, the half-man half-machine image and the very first synopsis for the film, although one that could have been confusing. The film takes place roughly 10 years after the first film, a fact that will be later promoted heavily in trailers and first press, and the movie itself takes place in 1995. However, the line in the leaflet says that the machine will try again in 1991. But that was done most likely not to confuse the audience who barely knew about any plotpoints of Terminator 2. general audience in particular could have been at that point confused with the year 1995.
So where did one got this promo item? According to few fans and moviegoers from back then, it was actually distributed in selected movie theaters randomly to the moviegoers in late 1990, some time after the teaser trailer was released, when the movie was just starting the live action shoot
A different pamphlet was distributed to a much wider audience in Japan, with different, Japan specific graphics. The Japanese version is much, much more common, cheaper and much easier to get
