Fangoria has always been just as good as the fantastic Starlog magazine back in the days. In their January 1985 issue, they talk to James Cameron and give him his second ever full spotlight (the first one being in Starlog magazine). They must have been great interviewers because Cameron is very relaxed and very candid here. He is promoting The Terminator of course, which, at the time of writing this article, hadn't come out yet as stated in the article itself.
But even thought he's promoting the movie, they cover all the areas and this article is basically the first bio article on James Cameron. He talks about his inspirations, road to becoming a filmmaker, work at Corman and then segue into the subject of the film itself, mainly talking about the involvement of Arnold Schwarzenegger. And he says that he hopes to someday make the definitive science fiction film
While Cameron already mentioned that the Terminator was born in his nightmare back in Rome in the Starlog magazine, here not only he expands on the story, but even goes into his ordeal on Piranha II and for the first time publicly criticizes the movie and its producers.
As far as the photos included in the article, I like the fact that almost no magazine back then looked exactly the same. Each magazine had of course photos that were printed over and over again (like the Terminator working on his hand ), but each had some new photos previously unseen
