Vintage Magazine Collection: Australian Movie Magazine, Sept 1991

Let's move to Australia now for one bit, before returning to US. Australians were just as enthusiastic about the film as audiences everywhere else, and also had some unique merch, but that's for another post perhaps down the line.

Simply called "Movie" Magazine was, you guessed it, a magazine dedicated to all the movies reigning in movie theaters, and Terminator 2: Judgment Day graced a nice, full cover in its September 1991 issue.

The Magazine has a three page article dedicated to T2, and while it doesn't have any exclusives, it manages to spill out an interesting article which is a well written, gushing review of the film. It only mentions T2's budget in passing, underlining the fact that what's on screen speaks for itself, and that whatever giant budget the movie had, you can see it being spent onscreen. The article doesn't just praise the special effects of course, far from it, it praises every aspect of the film, from characters to filmmaking, saying it's "the absolutely knockout craft of gasp-inducing filmmaking and storytelling". It praises Cameron's ability to match or even surpass the original films.

Other than that the article discussed the basic plot of the film and the T-1000, so not much more to discuss here, but it also manages to print some rarely seen photos, like the T-800 driving the SWAT van. All in a nice layout.
