Here it is, July 1991. The media locomotive picks up the pace and is about to hit full speed.
Karate and Fitness International was, you guessed, a magazine dedicated to karate and ninjas, but they also often focused on movie stars and movies which extensively featured martial arts.
While Terminator 2: Judgment Day doesn't really seem like it belongs to the Karate magazine, it was such a monumental release that even a relatively unrelated publication such as this one gave it a cover story in its July 1991 issue. The photo used on the cover of the Terminator with a shotgun at the desert camp will be used multiple times on different magazine covers.
The magazine has two half-pages with a generic writeup on the film, 4 stills from the film chosen from the the most publicized batch and a poster. The writeup is basically a retype of the Press Kit general information, although still not revealing anything that hasn't been revealed yet. There's nothing wrong with that, since the reading audience did not have access to the Press Kit, but there is no original writeup here, just a copy/paste situation. And again, the Press Kit info was well written, so it got everything needed to promote the movie in written media for a magazine that just wanted to lay out the basic information about the film.
A cool poster is included, which features a shot that was on my first T2 pinup so naturally I'll have some soft spot for it. Overall, like with other muscle and/or fitness magazines, there isn't much info to really sink your teeth in and the article is just a generic writeup. Still, it's a nice addition especially since it's one of the early magazine covers for T2.
