Vintage Magazine Collection: Fantazia June 1991

Fantazia was a UK magazine that was sort of like Screenrant website is nowadays. It was a collection of news bits about scifi/fantasy movies, articles and comic books, and all the latest happenings in the sci fi world. It wasn't the same as Starburst magazine. Starburst was a major science fiction movie magazine that was written and had the same format as other non-scifi film/cinema magazines. Fantazia was more so like a fansite, it was leaning more towards fanzine.

With their June 1991 cover given to Terminator 2: Judgment Day, they were the earliest English language magazine to put T2 on the full cover! And mind you, it is a feat because the movie didn't premiere there until mid August! The cover looks good and they put an extra effort into placing an endoskull in the background. The headline is quite inviting - "EXCLUSIVE: Terminator 2 Judgment Day: Heading back to the Future"

However, as one may suspect, there isn't much content so much in advance of the theatrical run. The entire media blitz was beginning in US at the time, but as in US, it didn't start full blast in UK until right before the film's arrival.

The section devoted to T2 is like a series of short paragraphs, all taken directly from the Press Kit.  So that itself asks a question, what is exclusive in that article? Well, they might have thought they will be the first one to publish what they received in the Press Kit (Fear magazine was the first though), but they were sure to publish bunch of never before seen photos first.

It is interesting to note that the T-1000 still hasn't been mentioned, although Robert Patrick is said to play a "mysterious police officer on the trail of Terminator and Edward Furlong".

The magazine also mentions Dark Horse's Terminator Comic books and announces Marvel's Comic Adaptation.
