Neca has been known for a while as the company for scifi geeks, and for a good reason. Not only their product is, almost all the time nothing short of terrific, but they offer variants and characters that either had never been done as figures, or rarely have been. And so, while there is a sea of T2 products out there, and nowadays a good bit of black leathered Terminator figures from the first film, Neca for the first time released the version of the T-800 Terminator from the first film in his 80's street punk clothes (see HERE) and it has now become more of a rarity. To accompany that rarely presented version of the character, Neca also released for the first and so far the only time, the 1984 version of Kyle Reese (not counting the Funko figures). It has now became an incredibly rare figure to find, and usually goes for at least $150 and up from there, and that's unpacked.
I finally managed to get my hands on Reese, and while my Neca collection is limited strictly to one version of each character from both films, I had to have him to accompany my so called Tech Noir Terminator figure.
It comes with a shotgun that's tied up to an area underneath his coat, and also with a small photo of Sarah, which I think is a nice touch even though for him it's technically an item form the future
The fact that he wears Nike Vandals shoes isn't a copyright issue thanks to a clever but subtle alteration to the Nike logo.
I love this figure, I think it looks great in person. I've seen photos and videos of it online, but it looked more plasticky on them, while it isn't so in real life
Some reviewers complained that the likeness to Michael Biehn isn't really there, but I disagree. It all comes down to an angle, but I think it is pretty clearly Biehn and I have no criticism at all towards the sculpt
