1997, and everyone was still going nuts for T2 Terminator 2: Judgment Day as if it was a new film. The excellent Starburst magazine included a cover feature on it, in its 1997 Special. The Special was mostly dedicated to Star Trek, but it had a fantastic retrospective article on T2.
There are still facts in it that aren't such a common knowledge even today, such as that T2 already earned $70 million before it hit theaters just from the licensing alone, or that it broke UK's 3 day record previously held by Silence of the Lambs. Or that Schwarzenegger appeared on the set in some kind of makeup 35 times.
Heart stopping, relentless, kinetic are just some of the words used to describe the film, and it still contains some rare and interesting quotes and anecdotes. "It's a movie with a look like none other" said Jim Cameron, and right he was. To this day people remember the stunning, Oscar-nominated cinematography of the film. He also talks about Stan Winston and his guys, and likens them to a family.
Linda talks about her training again, but admits it was tough to the point she had emotional problems and thought of dropping out many times
The interviews aren't new it seems and you can recognize parts of the statements from the Making Of featurette even, but the entire article is a very nice and highly praiseful retrospective on the sci fi movie of the decade. Or decades.
