According to Linda Hamilton herself, it was planned that she will be promoting The Terminator along with the other prime cast, but the press only wanted Arnold Schwarzenegger and so he and James Cameron were the only ones promoting the movie in the magazines all over the world. However, after the movie came out, that changed. One of the first interviews Linda did after The Terminator premiered was for the excellent UK science fiction magazine Starburst, whose many different issues I showcased and reviewed many times. In its August 1985 issue #84, Linda was promoting her next film which was Black Moon Rising, but was asked about and talked as much about her last role.
She pretty much says what she said she felt at the time years later, which was that she wasn't thrilled about The Terminator, its script or even during the shoot, but was shocked at how good it was once she saw it and praises it and Jim Cameron very highly. Even then she says that she would be willing to do sequel only if Cameron was involved. From what she says at least the at time she gave this interview the film hasn't hit the cable tv yet. She also says that while she was now constantly recognized on the streets, nothing changed as far as her career and film offers yet as of the time of the interview
So this issue is a great little nugget and one of the first interviews Linda Hamilton did post The Terminator, so it was very interesting to read and see her fresh opinion and reaction to it from the time
