Vintage Magazine Collection: Cinescape March 1996

It's been a while since we had an entry about Terminator 2 3D: Battle Across Time. A year to be exact, so a post dedicated to the film is long overdue

Cinescape was a science fiction magazine which was a bit more like Entertainment Weekly rather than Starlog, and was also a great magazine. This particular issue from March of 1996 is rather known to many Terminator fans for having a Jim Cameron cover as well as having a lengthy feature on T2 3D.

11 pages are dedicated to it, and cover a lot of ground. Naturally, it focuses on the technicality and the production of the film and attraction, goes over the career of James Cameron and talks to the other two c-directors of the film, John Bruno and Stan Winston.

While Cameron had said it before in both press and video, he makes it especially clear that he considers Battle Across Time to be a third Terminator film in more than one occasion even, with the quote "Sure its only 10 minutes long but its definitely the next film - it's not a rehash of things you've seen. We take John Connor and the Terminator into the future war, an environment they never interacted with in the past films. T2-3D is actually a continuation of the storyline. It's a whole new ballgame, something people have never seen before"

There's some photos not published anywhere else, like Jim Cameron discussing a scene with Eddie Furlong on the future war set, or John Bruno talking to Robert Patrick and more.

Overall a good issue, but not as good as the other magazines reviewed which featured Battle Across Time
