Vintage Collectibles: Kenner's 1991 Battle Damage Terminator

Here is another figure I got from the first Terminator 2 Kenner line from 1991. I just love the classic Kenner, love it, love it, love it. They scream "time capsule" and I think in fact they are an art in itself, not just the toys but the original illustrations on the packaging which are highlights of the piece for me.

I first had a Blaster T-1000, then John Connor on a bike, and so next I wanted a Terminator figure, and in my opinion, the Battle Damage figure resembles the T-800 character form the film the most. While many think the Power Arm Terminator gets the title, I think it's this one, it even has the same coloring on the clothing, the grey shirt and leather pants with boots. Sure, the pants are actually tucked into the boots, but that's a minor difference. Other than that, it's Uncle Bob here. As far as the figure, I think this one's one of the coolest from the line not only because it resembles the film character, but also because you can remove his torso to reveal the Terminator endoskeleton underneath. Boy, would I be crazy about it if I had it as a kid.

And as I always mention, I just love the packaging, just love the teaser trailer theme and the original character illustrations in the top right corner.
