Vintage Collectibles: The Terminator Figure 1985

While there was a load of merchandise related to T2 from weeks before it was even released, and the list of T2 merchandise made to this day or even the year it came out in 1991 would have been incredibly long and of wide variety (anything from action figures to board games to sleeping bags), the first movie had almost no merchandise made around the time of its release at all. In the States, the only merchandise from the first film was the poster and the novelization. yes, that is it. However, there were two figures made in Japan by a company called Hobby Tsukuda in 1985, a year after the movie premiered, and they were up until early 2000s, the only figures from the first film! And they still remain the only two figures made from the original The Terminator era. One of those figures was The Terminator endoskeleton, and the other one was the fleshed cyborg. They are vinyl kits that you glue and paint by yourself, but I really like the sculpt. The fleshed version comes with three heads representing different looks from the film. And just the idea that its this vintage, one of only two figures made around the time The Terminator was a new film is just so cool

Those two Tsukuda figures can get pricey and range from anything from $90 to $180 with shipping
