Modern Collectibles: Terminator 2 Endoarm Collector's Edition Bluray/4K 2018

By far it's the best collectible Terminator release out there. I was hesitating whether this one or Sideshow's endoskull bust should take the crown, but while Sideshow's endoskull is amazing on so many levels, I can see the streamlining done on it and that it differs from the film version.

As far as box sets, there were quite a few of those and the ones that are most remembered are the VHS US box set in a slipcase with a book and hologram, the UK T2 "lunchbox" release and of course the endoskull DVD release from 2009. While the endoskull release was somewhat cool, with sound effects from the movie, lit up eyes and the overall design, it did look like a cool toy, but an obvious plastic toy nonetheless. The design was much simplified and it had a toy look. It was very silvery and visually obvious that it's made out of plastic, and most details were glossed over, discarded or just vaguely outlined. Which is fine, since it wasn't a Sideshow release or anything like that. However, this particular release of the endoarm certainly holds the candle and scrutiny even to the Sideshow releases. The details aren't glossed over for sure, and every part seems to be fine crafted separately and thoroughly. The proportions are perfect, and the paint job gives it a great, darkened metallic look which looks very much like fire-darkened steel. It's a top notch job and a MUST have for any Terminator fan. It's certainly an item you can display and admire like Miles Dyson in Terminator 2: Judgment Day, it's that grabbing (pun intended).

It's a limited edition of 6000 and mine's 0345. Each endoarm comes with James Cameron's signature which I think is a fantastic touch

I preordered it as soon as it was available for purchase, but originally its release was postponed few times and pushed back for many months, due to the intricate design and complicated production going into this thing. It finally got released in July 2018 after two postponements, and it just wows when you first take it out of the box and see it.
I'm not going to talk about the disc that comes with it as its a standard 4K and modern blu Ray release available separately widely, plus there is a different post which focuses on home video aspects of T2's releases (HERE)
