Starlog was god given to Terminator 2: Judgment Day fans. I mean not only the coverage they gave T2 was massive, but it covered everything from characters to cinematography. In their #171 issue from October 1991, they featured another article/interview titled Writers In Judgment, because it focused on coming up with ideas and developing the story. Jim Cameron gives his quotes here, and William Wisher's quotes are mixed in here, but they originate from the earlier interview he did with Fangoria back in July.
Cameron explains here that the basic premise of the Terminator protecting the boy and a very different Sarah, as well as the fact that neither she nor Reese knew about the other Terminator sent to 1995, were his, and after that he called William Wisher. After coming up with ideas for scenes they then split up writing the script into two, with Wisher taking the first part and Cameron the second.
For the first time, the deleted scenes are discussed by Cameron, although he doesn't elaborate that much on them. The photos used in the article are fantastic and never before printed. The article is written of course, by Marc Shapiro. There's also plenty of T2 advertisement as well, for cards, masks, clothing and more
