Vintage Magazine Collection: Fangoria #40, December 1984


Fangoria had a great, now obscure interview with Arnold Schwarzenegger #40, December 1984 issue. Obviously he talks about his role, and it's the first time he mentions Westworld as an influence in portrayal of the character. 

Arnold talks about acting and movies in general, and he's surprisingly critical, or, in the least, not very impressed with Sylvester Stallone, who he mentions few times. It is a bit pleasantly surprising in hindsight, to see how much Arnold himself promoted the film in various magazines, including some that were geared only toward science fiction fanbase. 

The selection of the photos in this issue is fantastic though, most of the shots used are still being considered rare. And they're great. Fangoria went an extra mile and got photos which half of never seen the light of the day before. A gory shot of the Terminator cutting into his arm wound is particularly good, and rare.
