American Film magazine from July 1991 featured a double interview with Jim Cameron and Kathryn Bigelow promoting Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Point Break. The magazine caught up with the two of them at dinner (they were married at the time) and they basically interviewed each other.
Most of the interview is about directing actors and different approaches to setting up scenes etc, but there's couple of notable things from Cameron. For example, he singles out Michael Biehn as an actor he really likes to work with, and that he always brings new ideas about the character that work. He also talks about working with Sigourney Weaver and Ed Harris.
He also says that T2 is to The Terminator, what Aliens was to Alien: "in that it has goals beyond the goals of the first film but it tries to be true to the spirit of the first film as much as possible"
